Dusky Bay Cup lures strong field

The Guthrey Travel Horse Trial will be held at Riccarton Racecourse on Sunday.

The Dusky Bay Cup has drawn a 'Strong field of s.ix, including the 1985 winners, Tracey Chapman and Whetu. The novice class has a small field but several experienced combinations have entered. Maria Endicott on Sultan and Michelle Wilson on Hill-Billy will try to improve on the placings they gained in the novice twp-day event in June.

Numerous training entries have been received. As a result, two classes will be held. This shows the healthy state of Canterbury eventing at the moment The course-builders and hard-working supporters have spent several weeks putting up new fences and reversing the cross-country course to provide a bold galloping course for the start of the spring season in he South Island.

The Kaiapoi Pony Club staged the third round of the Blackwell Motors Mini-Circuit jumping at its grounds last week-end. Excellent entries were received.
