Support for monorail
Christchurch City councillors last evening gave their support to Cr Ron Wright’s suggestion of a monorail from Christchurch Airport to the city centre. They voted by a margin of two votes to support Cr Wright’s recommendation to encourage developers to consider the feasibility of a monorail.
The recommendation had already won support from the works and traffic committee.
Cr Wright put up the suggestion of a service to provide benefits to tourists and city residents.
