Choir places
Auditions for Christchurch Cathedral scholarships will be held in the next two months. The Cathedral Choir has several vacancies for next year. The choir was looking for boys between eight and 10 but would give special consideration to boys in standard three, the Cathedral organist, Mr David Childs, said. "A boy does not need to.
have an outstanding voice but he should be intelligent and be able to sing in tune,” Mr Childs said. The choir sang at the weekly choral services and the “big occasions” and recorded for radio and television. It also visited other centres. Last May the choir toured New South Wales. Anyone interested in contacting Mr Childs can do so at the Cathedral Office, 60-046.
