Fund-raising volunteer
A volunteer has come forward from the Paparua County Council to oversee the county’s fund-raising effort for the Canterbury Museum.
Mr Arthur Jennings, a county councillor, has volunteered for the job and will begin work as soon as he has gathered a team of helpers.
Paparua is part of the rural area between the Rakaia and Conway rivers which has been divided into counties for collecting purposes.
It is hoped that residents within the county will contribute $lBO,OOO to the museum fund during the next three years.
