Bank list of valuers
PA Auckland A list of preferred property valuers has been circulated to Auckland Savings Bank staff and other leading agencies may also be following this practice. The list, which was only recently in use, was part of a new direction the bank was taking, said the A.S.B. general manager of operations, Mr Hugh Burrett.
It did not mean the bank would be turning away valuations brought to them prepared by valuers not on the list, he said.
“We have traditionally normally lent in the residential housing area. We would always appraise the property with our own valuers so did not request another valuation,” he said.
“With our move into the commercial area, we’ve said here’s a list of preferred valuers. “It doesn’t mean we don’t like some. “It’s an internal notification and is there only as a guide.”
“We’re not concerned about it. It’s entirely up to any firm to decide who they wish to do business with,” he said.
