The Wingatui trainer, John Heasley, went to $45,000 to secure a Waikato-bred filly on the first day of the seventh Horses in Training Sale in Hamilton, on Thursday. Beasley’s purchase is a chestnut by Open Day out of the Syntax mare Syntol, winner of three races. The grandam Extol left Gay Gabador, winner of 14 races on South Island courses.

The next dam, Rhythmical, was a half-sister to Minglow, dam of the brilliant Show Gate.
