Spring concert offers classics
The second of the “Spring’s Here” concerts will be held tomorrow. The concert, entitled “Spring Classics,” will begin at 12.30 p.m. in the ' Botanic Gardens. The Guitar Academy of Canterbury formed earlier this year will bring an international flavour to the afternoon, as both the performers were born abroad and have only recently become resident in New Zealand. Next to entertain will be the Prague Quartet,
the members of which have been playing together since the beginning of the year, although as Individuals some have been studying for up to 10 years. The quartet will play Dvorak’s Quartet in D, Op. 23, movements one and two. The Christchurch Sympany Orchestra Wind Ensemble, comprising clarinet, bassoon and flute, will complete the programme with works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert.
