Normally this position would be an urgent appointment. New Zealand Steel runs an online LINC environment on a UNISYS Al 5 mainframe supporting over 400 terminal devices. The Technical Support Team are highly professional, take pride in their work and are successful at getting the job done. Their major responsibility is the operating system and its associated utilities. The team’s duties include: ★ Planning, implementing and maintaining an effective and optimised system software environment ★ Monitoring the hardware capacity, so that upgrades can be planned and implemented with minimal impact on users + Working with suppliers of software packages as regards their installation, maintenance and debugging of any associated problems * Offering advice and assistance to users, both internal and external, on problem solutions, data processing techniques and facilities If you are a Systems Programmer on UNISYS equipment or perhaps a LINC Programmer with technical aspirations, and you take pride in your work, then New Zealand Steel could provide you with your next career path stop. M. environment, utilising PCS/ADS development language and other productivity tools, and provides a comprehensive range of services on micro, mini, and mainframe computers. Whilst experience In Cobol would be an advantage, our main prerequisite is experience and/or interest in Health Computing.
