Car found stripped
A Ford Cortina 2000 was discovered stripped and burnt in the Ashley riverbed within hours of its being reported stolen from Christchurch. The burnt wreck was found oh Sunday near the Ashley River bridge on State highway 1. The Rangiora police
said the speed and efficiency with which the car was stripped and set ablaze suggested it was an organised and professional job. The police said they would like to hear from anyone who might have seen or heard something suspicious in the riverbed area on Sunday.
