Roaming animate
Sir,—My husband and I think that the present by-law on roaming dogs should be abolished. A new by-law should include cats and dogs, as cats have been seen scratching out our lovely and expensive bulbs and plants, and casting their excreta on our flowers and vegetables in the garden, and on our paths and lawns. This is not very pleasant, or hygienic and we have to clean up before we can cut our lawns. 'Surely we, as human beings, should not have to compete with dogs and cats. Animals could be locked up at nights in the garage, shed or a pen, etc. Three times now we have arrived home between 9.30 p.m. and 10 p.m. and found a dog coming down our drive.—Yours, etc., C. V. MORRISON. July 21, 1987.
