Two other versatile four-wheelers
One of the most popular four-wheeled Suzuki motorcycles in year-to-
date sales is the LT-F 230, a shaft-driven vehicle with special dual ratio transmission facility. This machine has 12 gears to suit all types of terrain and operating conditions. In each of the low and high ratios is a choice of five forward gears and one reverse.
Dual ratio transmission permits a choice bf extremely low gearing for slow operation, or high gearing for faster operation.
The motor, noted for its good mid-range power, is of a four-stroke, aircooled, overhead camshaft design.
Carrying capability is especially good, with the rear carrier moved forward on the latest models to prevent overhang. Five-stage adjustable
pre-load settings are possible with the independent double-wishbone front suspension.
Low pressure tyres are fitted front and rear, with those at the back having a slightly larger diameter.
The LT-F 230 comes with reverse gear, electric start, head-light, hydraulic front brake and internal expanding rear brakes, total and trip meters and reverse-gear indicator lamps. A useful decompression lever assists starting and a towbar is included.
Suzuki’s budget-priced LTI2S carries a suggested retail price of $3750 which the firm claims no other four-wheel-drive farm motorcycle can match. It has a 5-speed transmission, super-low first gear and large carriers front and rear.
