French exams
About 100 secondary school pupils will sit Alliance Franchise oral French examinations at the University of Canterbury today.
The examinations are open to pupils of Forms 5, 6 and 7. Each school also nominates its best junior school French speakers, who will receive certificates.
The winner of the seventh form national final will have a free trip to France.
