Elders divests
Elders IXL, Ltd, has divested its remaining investments in South Africa as at June 30, 1987. The investments comprised a 50 per cent shareholding in South African Breweries Hop Farms (Pty), Ltd, a hop growing and processing company which has been sold to joint venture partner, South African Breweries, Ltd, and a 50 per cent shareholding in Western Province Preserving Co. (Pty), Ltd, a pineapple farming and processing company, which, together with other trading activities, has been sold to Northern Industrial Finance Company BV in the Netherlands.
