Electors can check rolls
Electors wanting to check the new electoral roll will have their first chance today.
The roll contains the names and addresses of all electors who returned signed roll revision cards or completed enrolment forms during the roll revision which ended on May 29. The general and Maori rolls will be at all post offices, courthouses, public libraries and local authority offices within the electorate to which they applied. “If any information
needs correcting, electors should fill in a new enrolment form with the correct details,” said the registrar of electors for the Christchurch Central electorate, Mr Mark McGill. “Although large numbers of new enrolments have been received there are still many eligible electors who have yet to enrol.”
People could still enrol. Updating would continue until writ day, about 30 days before the General Election, when another roll would be printed for polling day.
