150 arrests
Police have arrested about 150 suspected members of an outlawed Leftwing group in co-ordi-nated raids across southern Sri Lanka, a police spokesman said. He said guns and explosives were seized in pre-dawn raids on hideouts of suspected members of the Marxist Janatha- Vimukthi Peramuna (People’s Liberation Front). —Colombo
