One nomination received
One nomination had been received when the National Party closed nominations for its Avon Parliamentary candidate yesterday afternoon. Mrs Wendy Rush, aged 52, a retail book shop assistant, was the sole nomination to stand as the party’s candidate in the electorate. National had
been forced to call for nominations again after the withdrawal of the former candidate, Mr Warren Smith. Mr Smith withdrew as candidate because of business commitments. Mrs Rush is secretary of the St Albans National Party electorate committee.
