Net lamb prices in “The Press”
“The Press” will begin next Monday to publish a net lamb price schedule comparison each week. Canterbury has the keenest competition for farmers’ export sheep and lambs among all the New Zealand meat exporting companies. With the ending of the national, agreed export schedule some meat companies decided to issue their own schedules, but the basis on which prices are offered differs from company to company
Mr Rod McKenzie, of Greta Valley, and Mr David Mears, of Amberley, operating as AgriFax, have developed a computer program to reduce all the quoted schedules to the same net basis for comparison. It will be based on the schedules of Fortex Group, P.P.C.S.-C.F.M., Challenge Meats, and Alliance. Waitaki International and the C.S. Stevens Group are not publicly releasing their schedules. .
