Wool firm at Wellington

PA Wellington Prices were firm at yesterday’s Wellington wool sale, according to the official report. The offering was of 26,767 bales from Auckland, Wellington, Wanganui and Napier.

Most of the wool was second-shear (77 per .cent), with clothing oddments (14 per cent), mature fleece, and first lambs’ wool both (3 per cent).

Second-shear was fully in sellers’ favour, while intermediate lengths (75mm to 100 mm) and shorter (50mm to 75mm) were firm. The Wool Board bid on 1.3 per cent of the offering and bought 0.1 per cent.
