Sir Paul’s daughter may face charge

PA Palmerston North Miss Bridget Reeves, daughter of the GovernorGeneral, Sir Paul Reeves, may face a traffic charge after a collision between the car she was driving and a bus on her graduation day. Sergeant Rex Fleming, of the Ministry of Transport, said Miss Reeves was not injured in the accident, which happened in Palmerston North at 4.45 p.m. last Friday.

Miss Reeves had graduated a bachelor of agricultural science at a capping ceremony in Palmerston North that morning. The bus was owned by Pahiatua Passenger Services. It suffered only slight damage. The driver was unhurt and there were no passengers. Mr Fleming could not say what the charge against Miss Reeves might be, but the alleged offence was minor.
