TV staff withdraw action
PA Wellington Television programmes were not affected by an industrial dispute involving TVNZ staff at Avalon last evening, said the controller of public affairs for TVNZ, Mr Graeme Wilson. Public Service Association and TVNZ representatives met last evening and the P.S.A. withdrew its threat of industrial action, he said. While TVNZ had been told the threat was reinstated for today, the parties were still talking. “I’m hopeful industrial action will not take place,” Mr Wilson said; No-one from the P.S.A. was available for comment.
