Application adjourned

PA Wellington An application by the national liquified petroleum gas distributor, Liquigas, for an interim injunction against a C.N.G. advertising campaign was adjourned pending an out-of-court agreement between the two parties yesterday. Liquigas applied for the High Court order against the New Zealand Gas Association to stop ad-

vertisements, said to be misleading, being published. Both parties are believed to have agreed to the hearing being adjourned until Thursday and an agreement was being worked out late yesterday.

Liquigas applied for the interim injunction under the Fair Trading Act which came into force on

March 1. Industry sources say Liquigas maintained that for the Gas Association to advertise C.N.G. as selling for half the price of petrol was misleading. Liquigas said C.N.G. is sold by the kilogram and the figures on the advertisements used to calculate the conversion to the equivalent petrol price in litres were inaccurate.
