U.K. registry wedding for N.Z. beauty queen
PA Tauranga Immigration regulations have forced a Taurangaborn former beauty queen, Delyse Nottle, to arrange a registry office wedding in England just months before she is to come back to Tauranga.
The former “Miss Universe New Zealand” is to marry an English-born electrican, Martin Borley, on Friday so that she can stay in England until next year.
Miss Nottle has a successful modelling career in England and Europe
and would have had to return this month.
After spending Christmas in Tauranga with her parents, she was given a two-months-only working visa so the couple decided to marry earlier than planned. They will live in New Zealand after a formal wedding in Tauranga in February. The couple met on a blind date organised by one of Miss Nottle’s friends and they had been seeing each other ever since. •
