Police shortage
Sir,—4n your leading article on the shortage of policewomen (April 2) you say that the Minister of Women’s Affairs is well placed to find a solution. Of course she is; she should be as I consider that she is the cause. Why should policewomen have any more confidence in Mrs Hercus than policemen? The best solution to this problem would be for this Minister to resign in favour of someone who does not have her conflict of interests.— Yours, etc., DEREK COOPER. April 2, 1987.
