Distributor for Ventura
Computer Land is moving heavily into desktop publishing products. It is the official national distributor of Ventura, the PC package, for Rank Xerox. Ventura will go on the market from Thursday, selling for about $2400, before GST.
Other products being offered by Computer Land include a vertical screen from Rank Xerox, which will display a complete A 4 page. This runs from standard high-resolution graphics cards, and will retail for about the same price as Ventura.
A Rank Xerox laser printer which doubles as a photo-copier, and will sell for about $12,000 before GST will also be handled by ComputerLand. An AST laser printer and the new Hewlett-Packard printers will also be handled by
Computer Land. Businessworld, which holds the New Zealand master franchise, will open Computer Land Auckland on Thursday. This brings to 10 the number of Computer Land outlets in New Zealand. Computer Land Auckland is based in Freemans Bay, and there is another outlet at Manakau City. Hamilton, Hastings, Rotorua, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Dunedin, and Christchurch also have Computer Land outlets.
Mr Bruce Foulds, the director of Computer Land New Zealand, says Mr Ed Faber, the chairman of the Computer Land Corporation, the master company which franchises its outlets around the world, will be in New Zealand next month.
