New bodies criticised
Wellington reporter The Government’s setting up of new Stateowned enterprises has been described by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Bolger, as incompetent and bumbling. The National caucus had spent some time considering the establishment of these bodies, during its weekly meeting, he said. He singled out particularly “the most cruel ap-
proach” for creating the Coal Corporation out of State Coal Mines. “The methods by which the Government is dismembering these Government departments are so callous as to be unbelievable,” Mr Bolger said. Many New Zealanders were disappointed that a Labour Government was not showing more concern for the human consequences of its actions.
