Education Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND New Zealand LECTURESHIP IN THEORETICAL AND APPLIED MECHANICS (School of Engineering) APPLICANTS should be suitably qualified with academic and/or professional experience in one or more of the areas that fall within the scope of the Department’s activities. The interests of the Department are mainly in the mathematical modelling and computational solution of engineering problems but also in applied mathematics. THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC FISHERIES ECONOMICS AND EXTENSION OFFICER INSTITUTE OF MARINE RESOURCES POST: 87/13 A teaching position exists in the Diploma in Tropical Fisheries programme of I.M.R. The person we are seeking should have appropriate qualifications and experience to teach basic courses in fisheries economics and communication and extension methods relevant for prospective fisheries officers. A degree in Economics or a related field or its equivalent in field experience will be required. Teaching inputs may also be made to an elementary course in small-scale business management, in the overall Diploma programme. It is funded by grants from the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council and the Medical Research Council of New Zealand. Candidates should be persons who have completed a doctorate and have relevant research experience In an applied area of social research.
