Law and order

Sir,—There is a great wringing of hands in the community over increasing crime, yet a reluctance to look at root causes and try to do something about them. We should teach children the difference between right and wrong behaviour and why. For this, is there a better basis than the Ten Commandments? Think of the enormous burden that would be lifted from people and society if everyone tried just a little to keep them; there are only 10. Yes, an old-fashioned solution, but the alternative does not seem to be making people very happy.—Yours, etc., E. KIRK. March 5. 1987.
