Guide proves popular
Tourism in Christchurch may well be on the increase if the demand for the Canterbury Promotion council’s “Visitors’ Guide” is any indication. In spite of an inreased print of 32,000 copies, the January-February issue ran out in mid-February and some copies have Been recalled from the North Island. The council’s chief executive, Mr Bruce Dunstan, said it was the first time an issue had
• been exhausted so quick. 1 But be saw it as a healthy ■ shortage. “There may have been more visitors to the city and a greater awareness of the ’Visitora’ Guide’. 1 There have certainly been more people through the Canterbury Information Centre,” he said. To keep up with demand and forward orders, 35,000 copies of the March-April issue will be printed and distributed at the end of this week.
