Mortgagee sale protest likely
PA Hamilton Hamilton is likely to be filled with angry farmers tomorrow for the mortgagee sale of an Oparau (Kawhla) property. Peter and Shirley Kewish’s sheep and cattle farm will be auctioned at the offices of Wrightson Dalgety. The chairman of the Waikato Federated Farmers meat and wool section, Mr Andrew von Dadelszen, said there had
been no meeting of all the creditors of the farm which included Allied Mortgage Guarantee Corporation, the ANZ Bank, and Elders Pastoral. “We take the stand that negotiation is better than confrontation,” he said. Mr von Dadalszen belived that a meeting had been held by Te Anga action group and the Oparau action committee to ask people to protest against the sale.
