Exhibition expert to visit

An international expert in the planning and development of recreational, social and exhibition complexes, Mr Eric McMillan, will arrive in Nelson tomorrow to inspect and comment on the Founders Park development. Mr McMillan, one of three partners in Eric McMillan Incorporated, of Toronto, has been brought to New Zealand by Founders. His travel costs are being borne by a number

of sponsors. A Founders spokesperson said yesterday that Mr McMillan would spend about four days of the two weeks he will be in New Zealand at the park. His expertise will be invaluable now that the park’s development was approaching stage 3. One of the areas he would be asked to advise on was further children’s entertainments, which were

limited at present, she said.

Mr McMillan has been involved in a number of major planning exercises for developments in the United States, Canada and England. They include Interarna, in Miami, Florida, a 100 acre recreational exhibition for Blscayne Bay, Florida, Santa’s Village, Bracebridge; Canada’s Wonderland, Toronto and the Chesington Zoo, London.
