Paintings reward
PA Auckland Auckland Grammar School and its insurance company offer a reward for the recovery of two stolen paintings. During Waitangi weekend, three valuable art works were stolen from the school but one was recovered last Sunday. The school offers a total of $5OOO for the recovery
of the paintings. The sum received by the finder would be in proportion to the value of the painting found. The missing paintings are an oil painting by Louis John Steele of Sir George Grey, valued about $30,000, and a J. C. Hoyte water-colour of a West Cooast gorge, valued about $25,000.
