Knife pressed at woman’s throat

Two men, one armed with a ishotgun and the other with a knife, entered the house on Monday evening after knocking about 10.40 p.m. A woman, aged 38, who was on the telephone, answered the door and was pushed to the ground by one of the men. The telephone cord was ripped from its socket and the knife held against the woman’s throat. Detective Senior-Ser-geant Michael Muddiman said the' man asked, “Where is the briefcase?” He was told there was no briefcase but he pushed the woman into a bedndom and demanded the’* case and asked,

"Where is the money?” The two men went into the lounge where the women’s two daughters and three men were. They stole two handbags containing about $lOO, a leather purse, and other items before leaving. Nobody was hurt in the incident which the police believe was drug-related, said Detective Senior-Ser-geant Muddiman. One of the robbers is described as European, aged in his early 20s, with short, blond hair and of stocky build. He is about 157 cm (sft 2in) tall and was wearing fawn overalls.

The second man is described as being a Maori, aged between 20 and 25, of thin build and about 182 cm (6ft) tall. He wore a black stocking over his face, blue and basketball boots. 1
