Softball to Richmond
Richmond beat Cardinals, 6-1, in a senior men’s softball match at Bumside High School last evening. Richmond outplayed Cardinals recording 12 hits to four. Cardinals drew first blood though when Bevan Nalepa scored in the bottom of the second innings. Immediately Mark Wright levelled the scores for Richmond in the top of the third.
In each of its next two turns at bat Richmond scored two runs. Paul Hughes, Ricky Reid, Doug Chee and Grant Wright were the scorers, and Mark Wright notched his second run to complete the scoring and bat 1000 for the evening in the top of the sixth innings.
In another senior match Burnside comfortably beat United B, 9-2.
