More survivors on liferaft found
NZPA-AAP Honiara Twenty-one survivors were found alive last night on a liferaft five days after the barge Vula sank north of Honiara in the Solomon Islands, with 49 people aboard. A police patrol boat found a liferaft with four
children, four women and
13 men aboard late yesterday. The Federal Sea Safety Surveillance Centre in Canberra reported that an R.A.A.F. Orion had sighted a second liferaft The Orion dropped smoke flares near the raft, the centre said.
