The day in Parliament
PA Wellington Ministers answered 13 questions when Parliament sat at 2 p.m. yesterday. The Minister of State Services, Mr Rodger, moved the introduction of the Higher Salaries Commission Amendment Bill. The bill was introduced and referred to the Government Administration Committee. Mr T. J. Young (Lab., Eastern Hutt) tabled the annual report of the Regulations Review Committee. Members began debating the second reading of the Civil Aviation Amendment Bill. Debate was interrupted when the House adjourned for dinner at 5.30 p.m. The bill was given a second reading when the House resumed after dinner at 7.30 p.m.
The Recreation and Sport Bill was also given a second reading. Members then began debating the committal stages of the New Zealand Planning Amendment Bill.
Then the bill passed through its committee stages and received its third reading.
Members began debating the second reading of the Education Amendment Bill (No. 3). The bill was given a second reading. Members then began debating the second reading of the Weights and Measures Bill.
The bill was given a second reading. Members were debating the committee stages of the Pesticides Amendment Bill when the House rose at 10.30 p.m.
