Derby cleaned out 48 cars
A field of 49 cars started in the 3ZB Demolition Derby at Woodford Glen Speedway on Saturday evening, and after 20 minutes only the Vanguard of Ash Smith was still mobile. He claimed the $l7OO first prize. A Snipe, driven by Peter
Townshend, was awarded second, ahead of Hugo Hobby’s Humber. Kenny Hannah won three out of three in the sportsman class and Gerald Griffiths made a clean sweep of the stock car events. Dennis Bolt claimed three wins in the super saloons. He had to settle for second, however, in the first race when Tony Cardwell slipped clear in his Pontiac Firebird.
