NZPA-AP New York The Honduran military bought millions of dollars worth of Soviet-made weaponry from Israel, according to a United States television programme. The Honduran military normally does not use the types of weapons purchased, but the antiNicaraguan contra rebels do, said the report on "60 Minutes.”

Jack Terrell, a mercenary who spent several months with the contras in 1984 and 1985, said contra officials told him they were receiving arms from Israel. The Soviet-made weapoons presumably were captured by Israel during its 1982 invasion of Lebanon.
