Sir Karl Popper
Sir,—One weakness in Derek Browne’s cavil about the comparative standing of Sir Karl Popper is his statement that “elsewhere his (Popper’s) influence has been negligible” (February 16). Elsewhere is a very large country indeed, much bigger than ah academic field, and I wonder whether Dr Browne has explored it sufficiently to justify the hyperbole of his claim. — Yours, etc.,
GORDON TAIT. February 20, 1987.
