Fern award to women
Two Canterbury women have been awarded a Girl Guides award, the Fern, for exceptional service to the movement
They are Mrs Margaret Grover of Ashburton and Mrs Isobel Mayman of Timaru.
Mrs Grover has been part of the guide movement for 20 years and is the division commissioner and administration trainer. She is responsible tor training adults in leadership roles within the movement.
Mrs Mayman began with the movement as a provincial commissioner in 1980. Her support and' work have helped to unite the regional group of Girl Guides and she is a member of the national executive.
