Small fire at Sunnyside
Sunnyside Hospital’s own fire-safety officers will investigate a small fire on hospital property last evening. A Fire Service spokesman said that three engines, the emergency tender, a hose layer, and a control car responded to the call at 7.20 p.m. However, there was only a small fire in a hallway, which damaged curtains, he said.
The Fire Service was also called to a house in Tavendale Place, St Albans, at 8.53 p.m. Engines from the St Albans and Harewood stations attended the fire, which caused slight damage to the eaves where the electrical supply entered the building.
