Two leading contenders for places in the New Zealand world championships team, Anne Audain and Peter O’Donoghue, both of Auckland, training in Hagley Park last evening in preparation for the grand prix track and field meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park this evening. Audain, a member of the team which won the women’s world road relay championship in December, will contest the 5000m. O’Donoghue will run in the 1500m. He has only recently returned to racing after a long spell through injury. He ran in the 1500m at the Los Angeles Olympic Games. Audain’s plans, back page.
