LIGHT NO FIRES MARLBOROUGH NORTH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT MARLBOROUGH NORTH RURAL FIRE COMMITTEE THE LAND area north of the Walrau River and Diversion to and including D’Urville Island, the Marlborough Sounds and the urban areas of Havelock, Picton and Walkawa. The PROHIBITED FIRE SEASON issued pursuant to Section 21 of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977 on February 5, 1987, IS NOW REVOKED. The re-introduction of the RESTRICTED FIRE SEASON will take effect from the date of this notification. It should be noted that the lighting of fires in the open requires a permit at all times. Please discuss your permit requirements with your local Fire Warden. The co-operation shown by residents within the M.N.R.F.D. over the prohibited period has been much appreciated. N. L.
