Guides to gather
About 300 Girl Guides will gather at Springston Domain tomorrow for an international afternoon to
celebrate “Thinking Day.” Thinking Day is the joint birthday of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, when guides throughout the world remember one another.
During the Springston event, the girls from Springs-Ellesmere Division will “take an airline ticket round the world, and visit eight countries.”
The girls will participate in t -.tivities in these “countries” which leaders are organising.
On Thinking Day members are encouraged to give a coin for the promotion of guiding, particularly in less fortunate overseas countries.
Rangers, guides, pippins, brownies and leaders will all take part in tomorrow’s events. If wet, activities will be held at the Springston Hall.
