Murder suspects appear
PA Timaru Three men charged in connection with the Boxing Day double murder in Timaru have been remanded for preliminary hearings in April. The three made brief appearances in the Timaru District Court yesterday before Judge I. Hay. Robin Albert Pope, aged 29, a solo father, and Frederick Llewellyn Williams, aged 35, unemployed, are jointly charged with the murders of Stephen James Hartley and Paul Chapman Wilson.
Philip Raroa, aged 34, a plasterer, J faces two charges of being an accessory after the fact ,j A preliminary hearing date of April 13 has been set ,
A third man charged with a separate murder in the city last November also appealed in court yesterday. - ’ , Darryl Wayne Trainor, aged 26, a freezing worker, is charged with the murder of lan Robert Campbell. Depositions have been set for February 27.
