OPP application
PA Wellington Otago Press and Produce, Ltd, says it has applied to list on the mining board of the Melbourne Stock Exchange. The company had allotted 800,000 ordinary shares by private placement on January 16, and expected to have the listing approved this month, OPP said in a statement to the Stock Exchange. OPP, through its buy out agreement with Orotec Mining Associates Ltd, had interests in Victoria and North-
ern Queensland. The company was waiting for licences to be granted so it could begin work in several areas.
OPP also said it was looking at existing mining operations in Western Australia with a view to taking an equity position. The company has links with newspaper publishing. The family interest which took control of OPP last sold the shell of the company which is now being used for the mining listing.
