Taking a break
Sir,—During a recent journey, my family and I decided to take advantage of one of those delightful, shaded, riverside stopping places that have been so thoughtfully provided alongside major highways. Our stay was curtailed by a swarm of sandflies whose need for food and drink far exceeded ours. This made me wonder whether the name of such places should be changed, where appropriate, from Rest Area to Restive Area. — Yours, .etc GLYN STRANGE. January 28, 1987.
