Queen ‘saw’ intruder
NZPA-PA London
Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on a report that the Queen had to lock herself inside Sandringham House to stop an intruder breaking in.
On January 24, Norfolk police reported that two days earlier a man had broken into the grounds of Sandringham before being brought down by a rugby
tackle from a police officer who arrested him.
A report in yesterday’s “Sun” asserts that the Queen saw the intruder, locked herself in, with the officer then bringing the man down just 1.5 m from her door. A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "The incident was reported fully 10 days ago. They were the facts of the case and we have nothing to add.”
