Lake Ianthe comfortless

Greymouth reporter

Visitors to South Westland no longer have the benefit of a comfort stop on the shore of Lake lanthe. Some time between Monday and Friday of last week, the two toilets in the recently constructed building were taken. The structure comprised a men’s and. a women’s toilet. When Lands and Survey Department staff went to clean the block a week ago the toilets were in

position. When they returned on Friday, the bowls, cisterns and fittings were missing. Only the pipe outlets remained.

A spokesman for the department said yesterday that the block had been in use for three to four months, and denied a suggestion that the concrete had hardly set.

She said that the toilets were bolted in position. The Hokitika police are investigating.
