Women’s clinics
Sir,—Dr Selwyn Carson is well versed and experienced in holistic care of the entire family, regardless of race or creed. Twenty years ago I was privileged to observe the results of his clear, practical approach to the mental and physical problems of hj& patients. With his social worker and practice nurse,
the complete background of health; home circumstances and commitments were carefully examined. It was heart-warming to see the absolute confidence and faith of those patients in this understanding team. If his health centre had been appreciated then by the Government,' our health service today would not be such an expensive shambles. Perhaps the well women could use their time and money to concentrate on encouraging and supporting their less-fortunate sisters, thus helping to restore our lost values. A healthy, caring family is the backbone of a nation, and with their own doctor available they feel secure. — Yours, etc., ■ ZOE STONEHOUSE. ja Blenheim, January 7, 1987.
