State union head tips tough year
PA Wellington The Combined State Unions chairman, Colin Hicks, is predicting a difficult round of negotiations in the State sector wage round this year. Mr Hicks said there was a feeling that State workers should try and maximise benefits while the present structure for
State sector negotiations still existed. The Government has signalled intentions that it will do away with automatic general adjustments for State workers. Traditionally, State pay has been linked to private sector movements through the automatic adjustment process.
